Currently portraying the noble Ser Harrold Westerling on “House of Dragon”, Graham McTavish is a very distinguished Scottish television and film actor. He is best known for his roles as Dougal Mackenzie in the extremely popular TV series “Outlander” (2014-2016), as the dwarf Dwalin in the “The Hobbit” trilogy for Peter Jackson (2012-2014), The Saint of Killers in AMC’s hit series “Preacher”, Count Vlad Dracula Tepes in the Netflix animated series “Castlevania”, and as Redanian Intelligence Lord Sigismund Dijkstra in the Netflix fantasy series “The Witcher”.
His numerous credits, however, don’t stop there. Graham also starred alongside Sylvester Stallone in “Rambo” (2008) and “Creed” (2015), making him the only actor to perform opposite Rocky AND Rambo! He is also recognized for his roles in many other TV shows and movies including “Red Dwarf” (1998), “24” (2009), “Rome” (2004), “The Finest Hours” (2015) and “Colombiana” (2011).
As well as extensive theatre experience throughout the UK, including The Royal Court and The Royal National Theatre, McTavish is likewise well-known for his dominant voice work on video games and animated TV. He is a strong presence in “Uncharted 2, 3, and 4″, “Call of Duty”, “Dante’s Inferno”, Loki in “Hulk v Thor” & “The Avengers”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness”.
Interestingly enough, Graham also co-authored a New York Times Bestseller travel book with fellow Outlander co-star Sam Heughan in 2020. The book, Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other , thrilled readers and successfully won the hearts of all loyal Outlander supporters. In 2021, he starred in the accompanying TV series on the STARZ Network, Men In Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham, which aired to much fanfare.
Look for Mr. McTavish to appear in the upcoming Season 2 of House of the Dragon, Season 3 of The Witcher, and of course Season 7 of Outlander!
