Voices Against Cancer invites you to join us in any capacity that you can with your family, church community, team building event or a fundraising drive to help make Care Sacks available to more families in your area. We can all make a difference in our communities and together we can make a much larger impact!

We would love to assist you and give you direction and ideas in creating your own Comfort Care Sacks but we also invite you to be creative in what you do. These are suggestions. You can do as big or as little as you are able to do.

Care Sack Items

We purchase our bags through a local vendor in Sioux Falls. We chose a larger backpack that also includes a cooler option in the bottom for transporting temperature-sensitive medication.

  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razor, shaving cream, lotion, chapstick)
  • Ear plugs
  • Eye/sleeping mask
  • Blanket
  • Slippers
  • Puke bags
  • Miralax packets
  • Bandaids
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Fun items that can be used/played with in bed (we do mini Nerf Guns, Thinking Putty, fake snake or bugs)
  • Window clings
  • Coloring books
  • Colored pencils
  • Plain notebook and pen
  • Phone charger (make sure it has multiple ends depending on what sort of phone they have)
  • Gum
  • Water bottles (water additives)

We do ask that you print off the following and add to the bags so that we can provide extra support to the families you give your bags to if they would like it:

We ask that, if you join us in making bags, make sure you tag us in your social media posts so we can see how far and wide bags are being made and spread to support the childhood cancer community.

WE CANNOT TELL YOU HOW GLAD WE ARE TO HAVE YOU JOIN US IN OUR EFFORTS TO BUILD THIS COMMUNITY OF SUPPORT FOR OUR YOUNGEST WARRIORS!
